2007 Quilt Market
Our quilt market was held on October 20, 2007. It was a great
success. We took in $9650 with 27 members selling quilts and
quilt-related items. We had about 26 large quilts and many lap
size and wall hangings.
There was something for everyone as the shoppers lined up before 10 AM
on Saturday morning eager to see what LAP members had for sale this
year. We were very busy from 10 AM until noon. The afternoon
had lots of buyers but wasn't as crowded as the morning. The floor
helpers were kept busy moving merchandise around to fill in all the
empty spaces where things had sold.
The Oriental Challenge and other items donated to the Guild brought in
$600. Thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge.
We hung all the oriental items together and it was a beautiful display.
2007 Donation Quilt
Our 2007 Donation Quilt pieced and quilted by members of the Los Alamos
Piecemakers Quilt Guild. The drawing for the quilt was held
at the Quilt Market on October 20, 2007 and won by Fay Beals of Sandia
Park, NM.
Thanks!
Special thanks to Fran and Tom Suchocki for picking up the
frames from the County, setting them up AND taking them back to
the County. We could not have done this without their help.
Thanks to Jim Friar, too, for helping with the setup and takedown.
Thanks to the LAHS Cross Country boys (lead by Chris Ussery) who hung
the sign on the overpass. Claire Swinhoe did a great job letting
everyone know about Market this year with advertising in magazines and
the Monitor. Thank you, Claire. Thank you to all who helped with
set-up, cashiers, white glove ladies and take down. Our volunteers
are the greatest!
